Job Announcement – Contract Positions

1. Medical Doctor II – 20 Positions

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution approved by the government.
  • Must have completed a one-year internship.
  • Must be registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council and hold a valid license.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide medical treatment in hospitals for various patients, including children, women, and emergency surgeries.
  • Offer and manage health education in hospitals and communities to improve public health.
  • Conduct investigations to monitor and prevent disease outbreaks.
  • Collect health statistics and use them to guide healthcare management according to MTUHA guidelines.
  • Plan and evaluate healthcare services at the workplace.
  • Train students and staff at the workplace.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior staff and health professionals.
  • Participate in preparing work plans and budgets for health services.
  • Supervise and ensure the quality of health services provided.
  • Improve medical services and quality of care.
  • Provide outreach health services in districts and regions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors, utilizing knowledge and experience.

2. Assistant Nursing Officer II – 20 Positions

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Diploma in Nursing, with at least two years of study from a recognized institution approved by the government.
  • Must be registered with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council and hold a valid license.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services.
  • Collect and maintain important health statistics.
  • Supervise and guide junior nurses.
  • Educate patients and communities about health and wellness.
  • Administer immunizations and other preventative care services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors, utilizing knowledge and experience.

3. Pharmaceutical Technician – 4 Positions

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy with at least three years of study from a recognized institution approved by the government.
  • Must be registered with the Tanzania Pharmacy Council and hold a valid license.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, order, and manage drug requirements for the hospital and other relevant areas.
  • Dispense drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital staff.
  • Inspect drugs, medical supplies, chemicals, and cosmetics in the workplace.
  • Report any adverse reactions from drug use.
  • Oversee the hospital’s drug committee.
  • Prepare reports on drug and medical supply usage.
  • Conduct drug quality checks in storage areas.
  • Supervise and guide junior staff.
  • Maintain records of drugs and medical supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors, utilizing knowledge and experience.

Salary

  • Successful candidates will be offered a three-month contract and will be paid in accordance with the employment terms agreed upon.
